It was while Shawn Warrilow was surfing along Daytona Beach, just before 7 p. m. , that he says it suddenly hit him. Warrilow immediately paddled onto shore where he inspected his left foot, which had a number of gashes arching from under his pinky toe to his heel. With his adrenaline running, he took a moment to smile for a photo with his bleeding foot in the air — along with a shaka or "hang loose" symbol formed with one hand. Had it been a bull shark or a tiger shark, this wouldn't be the same conversation," he said.
