Clearwater police: Teens' ride in stolen car ends with serious crash - Bay News 9
Clearwater police are investigating a series of overnight events that started with a vehicle stolen from a food delivery worker and ended with a serious crash and a teenager in the hospital. The crash happened at Northeast Coachman and Belcher roads just after 11 p. m. Police say a 2013 Toyota Prius that had been reported stolen about an hour earlier ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a Honda Odyssey van. The Prius had been reported stolen from 311 S. Betty Lane from a food delivery worker who had stopped to make a delivery. He left the key in the ignition with the car running when it was stolen, police said. According to police, the teen who was driving the stolen Prius ran off and is being sought.
