Police Report for Sept. 1 - Gadsden Times

Someone burglarized a business in the 400 block of Chestnut Street between 6:30 p. m. Friday and 11 a. m. Saturday, taking cash and a check. A man reported his 2000 Honda Civic stolen after he left it at a gas station in the 2400 block of Ewing Avenue about 11:15 a. m. Monday because it overheated. The victim told police about a month ago, after he lost his keys, the same friend was found with them and wanted money to return the keys. While police were talking to the victim at the store, the friend drove up. He was detained, and another friend of the victim told him the missing vehicle was parked at a church. Someone burglarized a residence in the 800 block of Adams Street between 8 p. m. Sunday and 6 p. m. Monday. A man in an older model maroon Honda passed a counterfeit $100 bill at a convenience store in the 500 block of George Wallace Drive about 4:30 p. m. Saturday. The owner looked at the bill and noticed the color differed from other bills. Police responded to a domestic violence call at a residence on Tanglewood Drive at about 10:30 p. m. Monday to find medics transporting a 33-year-old woman to a hospital for treatment.
