Spied: EV Variant of Hyundai Prius-Fighter Spills its All-Electric Guts - Motor Trend

The Prius-fighter doesn't don the form-fitting camo we last saw it in , opting instead for the heavy fabric covering we're used to seeing from Hyundai-Kia. The still-unnamed model was caught testing among an entourage that included both competitors and other Hyundai-Kia prototypes, including the pure-electric variant of the upcoming hybrid. We previously reported that a plug-in hybrid variant of the Prius-fighter was in development. Our shooter also managed to snap the interiors of both the Prius-fighter and Kia's upcoming subcompact crossover. The interior of the Prius-fighter looks like standard Hyundai fare, though we can see what looks like an electric power gauge and a traditional gear selector. The Kia crossover doesn't reveal much detail, with a black sheet draping over most of the dash and camo covering the center console. But the gauge cluster does give away something interesting: this test mule is likely a hybrid. But I am impressed with what Hyundai/Kia appear to be doing. It sounds like Hyundai will offer a hybrid/PHEV/BEV all on the same 5 door hatch body style, and Kia will do a hybrid/PHEV CUV style. But the Hyundai option would be an industry first.
