With nearly 30,000 miles on the clock and its time with us rapidly coming to a close, I thought the best way to say goodbye to our fleet workhorse was to take it out for one long last road trip, where our truck would get the chance to do all the... My fiancée and I enjoyed the Ram's comfortable front seats and its Uconnect infotainment system, and the puppy enjoyed a low-enough beltline that she could watch cars whiz by without having to stand up. Load or no load in back, the Ram rode as... Once in town, the Ram spent most of its time shuttling people around and making trips to local NorCal breweries. ) The Ram did get a chance to show off its hauling chops by moving a washing machine, some furniture, a mattress, and a variety of other odds and ends from my fiancée's mom's storage unit. People love trucks, specifically pickup trucks. They are so ingrained in our society that for many years now pickup trucks have outsold every other type of vehicle. The Ford F-150 has been the number one seller for several years followed by Chevy and Ram, which despite its efforts to drop its Dodge moniker, is in fact made by Dodge. Recently we had the chance to live with a Ram for a week making our testing of the three top selling vehicles in America complete. Our model for the week was the 1500 Laramie crew cab, 4X2, a light duty truck with the shortest of the three available beds (5’ 7”). The full size Ram 1500 is available in multiple body styles. The regular cab seats three and can be had with a 6-foot, 4-inch or 8-foot cargo bed. The Quad Cab can seat up to six and comes only with the 6-foot-4 bed. The crew cab gives you more rear-seat legroom and comes with either a 5-foot-7 or 6-foot-4 bed. There are six main trim levels: Tradesman, Express, HFE, SLT, Sport and Laramie. The SLT is one of the more popular trims, but the Big Horn-Lone Star variant is the top seller and has few more upgrades above the SLT. Source: www.examiner.com

The Ram 1500 with the Pentastar V-6 was the first of line to receive the new TorqueFlite 8 eight-speed transmission. For commuting and occasional light hauling duty, we found the combination of the Pentastar and eight-speed to be a great balance of power and economy. And recently we had the opportunity to experience the eight-speed with the new 3. 0-liter EcoDiesel. Before I got a chance to drive the new eight-speed trucks, one of my concerns was that they would be overly shifty, upshifting and downshifting constantly. Although the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has been getting a lot of attention and love lately, the combination of the Hemi and the eight-speed makes a powerful case for itself. The broader rev range and higher horsepower of the Hemi combined with the eight-speed gives the truck forceful, confident acceleration around town, and relaxed cruising on the highway. Subjectively, a lot of people, including many of the MT staff, feel that Ram has the best-looking trucks, inside and out. On the inside, upscale touches such as the knob shifter, push-button start (on the higher trim levels), and the intuitive and responsive Uconnect touch-screen interface show that the Ram's designers sweated the.
