Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), also known as "sticker" price, is a recommended selling price that automakers give a new car that is above the invoice price paid by the dealer. It is a price that does not include any options that can be added to a particular car style. A complete redesign of the car that won Cars. com's first-ever "Best of" award in 2009, the 2015 Hyundai Genesis is now even closer on the heels of more expensive competitors, but it's not without shortcomings. As before, the Genesis is technically full size, but Hyundai positions it against nominally midsize sedans like the BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CTS, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Lexus GS 350 — and prices it to undercut them all (see key competitors side... Like the Jaguar XF, another competitor, the Genesis newly adds an all-wheel-drive option available solely with a V-6. This option is common among competitors. SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Michigan -- With its 2011 Sonata, Hyundai put itself at the forefront of a few trends in the competitive midsize-sedan segment. The redesigned 2015 Hyundai Sonata may appear to be less revolutionary than its predecessor, with its more conservative styling and carryover powertrain lineup, but there is at least one big change: the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Eco. The only other midsize sedans with small, direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinders are the Ford Fusion with its 1. 5-liter EcoBoost and the Volkswagen Passat with its 1. 8-liter TSI. But along the way, Hyundai also created our favorite version of the 2015 Hyundai Sonata -- impressive given we already hold the 2. 4 GDI and 2. 0T versions of this midsize sedan in high esteem. The Sonata Eco’s 1. 6-liter turbocharged four is similar to the one found in the Hyundai Veloster Turbo , but has different tuning because of its efficiency-minded mission. It makes only 177 hp—8 hp less than the standard 2. 4-liter four-cylinder—but punches above its weight with 195 lb-ft of torque, 17 lb-ft more than the Sonata 2. 4. A new engine joins the 2015 Hyundai Sonata lineup , on top of the existing 2. 4-liter four-cylinder, 2. 0-liter turbo, and hybrid powertrains. Hyundai’s Gamma 1. 6-liter turbocharged I-4 pairs with a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for more than ten percent better fuel economy than the base 2. 4-liter engine offers with its six-speed automatic. It’s the first seven-speed dual-clutch for Hyundai, although there is a six-speed dual-clutch transmission in the base, naturally-aspirated 2014 Hyundai Veloster. 6-liter turbocharged Gamma I-4 in the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Eco is related to that used in the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, where it makes 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.
