Since the Honda Crosstour first went on sale in 2010, it has earned a range of mixed reviews. In order to form our own opinions about the unusual hatchback, we spent a few days in a 2014 Honda Crosstour. Old and New Although the Honda Accord was fully redesigned for 2013, the Crosstour was merely face-lifted, and that means the hatchback still uses the chassis, platform and other items from the 2008-2012 Honda Accord. For an example of what we mean, look no further than the Crosstour's styling. While we certainly welcome the idea of an all-wheel-drive Accord wagon, we're not entirely sure this is the right way to go about it. Based on the Crosstour's sales, it seems like most car buyers tend to agree. Outdated styling isn't our only complaint about the Crosstour. While the Accord V6 also uses this engine and transmission, the pair seems to be dulled by the Crosstour's size -- and maybe even by its all-wheel-drive system. Source: www.philly.com

The Honda Crosstour is no Accord Wagon, and it should be. Instead, it's fairly invisible on the market, where its hatchback body style doesn't look as neat as the Accord sedan on which it used to be based, or as practical as a true wagon. There's no longer much of anything in common between the Crosstour and the Accord, and that's the hatchback's loss. In sum, the Crosstour is a huskier Accord relative, with more sluggish handling. At least at first look, the Crosstour teases a lot more utility and versatility than Accord sedans. One is that it rides a couple of inches higher than the Accord sedan and is around four inches taller altogether—which makes getting in and out easier. The cargo situation is disappointing, too, as the strut towers infringe on cargo space (there's not much space between them), although the seatbacks flip forward. Source: www.thecarconnection.com
