Honda Motor Co. was one of North America's leading proponents of natural gas in vehicles for more than 16 years. Even its Civic had factory-installed CNG-fueled powertrain from 1998 to 2015. But CNG Civic wasn't able to catch on and was discontinued in 2015, despite being one of North America's best-selling cars. Honda knows that the market for natural gas vehicle (NGV) in North America comes in fleet and commercial customers, not individual car owners. This is one of the major reasons why Honda opened up its first CNG refuelling station in its campus located at Marysville, Ohio. It is one of the largest numbers of vehicles manufactured in North America with hundreds of deliveries per day, making it an ideal place for a CNG refuelling station. The Natural Gas Refuelling Infrastructure of Navigant Research reports that the number of CNG refuelling station in North America is seen to grow to just more than 1,800 in the next 10 years from the present 1,560. DETROIT (WWJ/AP) – New numbers Tuesday from federal regulators about the extent of the ongoing Takata Corporation air bag recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says 23 million air bag inflators need to be replaced, down from an original estimate of 34 million. The agency saying some air bags from multiple recalls were counted twice. A strange thing happened when I went to return my 2015 Honda Civic press demonstrator. When the fleet company rep asked me what I thought of the car, all I had to say was “well, it’s a Civic. the Civic badge carries such weight that just saying the car lives up to the name is enough. For better and worse, living up to the name, is exactly what the 2015 Civic does. Yet even as the Civic enters the latter half of its lifecycle it remains a compelling choice for sensible buyers. The average Honda Civic buyer isn’t an enthusiast seeking knife-edge cornering and brutal acceleration, and that’s a good thing: the Civic lacks both. Honda’s engineers clearly put a lot of attention into the car’s driving performance, however — they were just focused on a different goal. They wanted to make the Civic easy to drive. Most important for the average Civic driver, the transmission does most of its work in a completely invisible fashion.
