At the Chicago auto show , Ford is debuting two new powertrains for the TC—a battery-powered electric vehicle and one powered by natural gas or propane—as well as a taxi. Transit Connect EV: Short Connections Only. The Transit Connect EV uses a liquid-cooled, 28-kWh lithium-ion battery pack capable of up to 80 miles on a charge. Transit Connect Propane and Natural Gas: Unnatural (Fuel) Selection. Those looking for a less-expensive alt-fuel TC will have other choices, as Ford also announced that it will be offering both natural-gas and propane conversions on the Transit Connect. These models will come prepped from Ford for either of the alternative fuels, although the full conversion, including installation of fuel tanks and lines, will be performed by contractors such as Roush, whose propane-powered F-250 we recently...
