Family of Clinton man killed in shooting wants answers - WHNS Greenville

Laurens County deputies say the shooting happened around 5 p. m. at the Corner Mart convenience store on Highway 76. Deputies said Marvin Watson and Zeryikia Copeland approached David Anderson, who was in a Ford F-150 at the gas pumps, and shot him. Watson and Copeland then fled the scene, deputies said. Lieutenant Judy Stiles said Monday that the motive for the crime was still unclear Monday. Watson has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, while Copeland is charged with accessory after the fact to felony murder, Stiles said. The Laurens County Sheriff's Office released a photo on their official Facebook page of a vehicle they said is believed to be connected to the crime. Chastain said the suspects' vehicle is possibly a 2012-2015 Nissan Sentra. Stiles said deputies found the vehicle at Joanna Community Park around 11 p. m. Sunday. Sheriff Ricky Chastain said Copeland, 20, of Tribble Street in Clinton, turned herself in to Clinton police around 5 a. m. Monday. Family members said Anderson went to take some trash to the dump and buy a bag of ice. GM recalls 73000 2010 Cobalt cars for wiring - The Detroit News

Washington — General Motors Co. said Thursday it is recalling 73,000 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt sedans because some may have been built with improperly routed side impact wiring that could prevent an air bag from deploying in a crash. GM said the new call back is not related to the 2014 recall of 2. 6 million vehicles — including the 2005-2010 Cobalt — for ignition switch defects that are linked to nearly 400 deaths and injuries. In that recall, the faulty ignition switches in the off or accessory mode could result in the air bags failing to deploy in a frontal crash. GM said the new recall issue is related to the sensor wire harness routing in the left front door. When improperly routed, the window regulator could contact the harness when the window is fully lowered and over time chafe the harness insulation. To date, GM has recalled 2. 2 million vehicles in 26 campaigns. By contrast, GM recalled 27 million vehicles in the United States in 2014 in a record setting 84 recall campaigns. Volvo Cars in June recalled about 600 2016 XC90 SUVs for a front-seat wiring harness routing problem that could lead to the front seat side impact air bag becoming inoperable, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety.
