Ford has updated the Explorer for 2016 keeping one idea in mind: Don’t screw it up. Change a few things on the margins, do what’s necessary to goose fuel economy, make some minor engineering twists, get rid of what customers haven’t liked, throw... In fact it’s been selling a little better in each subsequent year of its five-year (so far) life. And while some new elements of the revivified Explorer are impressive – the newly available 2. 3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four at 280 horsepower is super sweet – others are trivial. Maybe the best things about the updated 2016 Explorer is that it could induce some dealers to bargain more aggressively on their 2015 models. The changes are subtle – less mass in the hood, slimmer headlights with LED elements, driving lights integrated into the bumper cover and a grille that’s more Ford truck and less Remington Flex Twin Foil shaver – but the 2016 Explorer is... The wheelbase has somehow stretched a massive 2/10ths of an inch longer than in the 2015 model, while the front and rear track widths stay at 67 inches. Ford is proud that the center console armrest is now calibrated to the same height as the armrests on the doors, but the big improvement is on the dash where real dials and switches replace the. Ford temporarily halts Edge sales to repair flaw - Chicago Sun-Times

DETROIT — Ford is temporarily halting sales of some Edge SUVs because water can leak inside and cause damage. Ford began producing the new Edge in February. The issue involves Edges built before April 28. Ford Motor Co. says around 19,000 SUVs potentially affected by the issue have already been sold to customers. 2016 Honda Pilot Second Drive Review - Motor Trend

I got my chance to find out for myself at an event in New York to which Honda invited a handful of journalists to sample three flavors of the all-new Pilot. What follows are just my impressions from a quick ride and drive up and back to Yonkers on the famous West Side Highway, Henry Hudson Parkway, and New York State Route 9A. We had just had Honda's HR-V in at the L. A. office for a comparison test,... I also recently drove our long-term Sport/Utility of the Year, the 2015 Honda CR-V , so even though I can't remember the last time I was in a Pilot, I feel pretty current on Honda's SUV offerings. "Big CR-V" is an accurate and not unkind way to describe the new Pilot. Honda designers have delivered, though to be fair, they had nowhere to go but up since the boxy, pig-nosed last generation. About the only questionable angle on the Pilot is the rear, where a bit of the minivan roots (Pilot shares its platform and powertrains with Accord and thus Odyssey) are showing. Honda is famous for smart packaging — see the Honda Fit's flip and fold Magic Seat and CR-V's forward-tumbling second-row seats that create a flat load floor — and the Pilot doesn't disappoint. during the product presentation, Honda showed an animation of four Rollaboard carry-on bags being placed vertically in the space back there.
