Adjusted for inflation, the 1986 Toyota Pickup SR5 4x4 Access Cab is $20,491 in today’s money. Compared to the manual front hubs and shift-on-the-fly 4x4 HI front axle disconnect feature of yesteryear, the Tacoma’s 4x4 system is electronically controlled. In our opinion, the most interesting aspect of the 1986 Toyota Pickup SR5 4x4 Access Cab vs. 2016 Toyota Tacoma infographic is weight. Safety features, bundles of digital nannies and more modern mumbo-jumbo got the compact pickup truck fatter and fatter. We’re talking about 2,800 pounds (1,270 kg) versus 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg). 1 A resident who heard a noise looked out the window in time to see a person who'd vandalized her vehicle, smashed a window and slashed the tires driving away in a white Honda. 1 A blue-gray 1986 Toyota pickup was stolen overnight. 1 A resident reported a small gray truck blocking his neighbor's garage. He told police that when his neighbor asked a male inside the truck to move it, the male said he didn't have a key. When asked to call someone, the male said he had no phone. And when offered a phone, the male declined and walked away, the neighbor took a bus for work and the resident called police. 1 A residence was burglarized by someone who got in through the garage after trying windows and a rear door. Prism Lane, 1:43 a. m. Monday A male reported hearing and seeing two people in his backyard. Dockside Circle, 7:49 p. m. Monday A female looking at video surveillance footage discovered two males had tried to enter her backyard early that morning. Orchard Avenue, 7:50 a. m. Tuesday A resident leaving for work confronted a male inside his open garage. The male immediately left in a red vehicle similar to a Honda Civic. Madison Avenue, 7:09 p. m. In celebration of Marion Parsons Day - Homer News

I spent most of 2014 decompressing from one long hard day’s night that began in 1980. (What I was doing is another story. ) But in March I jumped out of my self-imposed fish bowl, Homer, and launched myself on an adventure on the big island of Hawaii, reacquainting myself with a piece of property, in a place called Wood Valley, I bought seemingly a lifetime ago. The loose livestock of the island — the turkeys, chickens goats, pigs and who knows whatever else that roamed around — struck a real affinity in me, reminding me of days over 50 years ago and a place I simply called across the fence, where I and a... I may be embellishing a bit more than how we would have described our good old loose livestock club back then, but, at heart, we were pure loose livestock. And, man, how that Hawaiian weather brought me back to late spring, early summer in upstate New York to what I once considered the greatest day in the universe: Marion Parsons Day.
