General Motors Company Becomes A Victim Of Faulty Airbags Once Again - Tech News Today
Once again, General Motors has failed with the airbag safety device fitted in its vehicles and this time it is recalling 8,989 Impalas. These Impala vehicles are reported to have faulty passenger-side airbags that fail to inflate if a passenger in the front is an infant. According to reports, 2014-2015 models of Chevrolet Impala, fitted with front heated/vented seats are being recalled. The sensors fitted in these vehicles seems to be defected, thus the system is not aware of an infant located in the front seat as a result the airbag doesn’t trigger automatically during impact. GM spokesman, Alan Adler reported to have said in an email that the airbag problem is due to a system malfunction, and can be resolved by preconditioning the seat, and fixing the occupant sensor fitted in it. The automaker has recalled all Impalas... Previously, GM recalled around 331,000 pickups in the US, including Heavy Duty versions of the 2007 and 2008 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado.
