ENGLEWOOD - An Englewood man faces charges for murder after his fiance's mother was found dismembered in Clear Creek County. Jackie Degarmo's headless body was discovered wrapped in a blue tarp near Mine Road and Crest Road on May 3, according to Englewood investigators. John Brant, 32, was arrested Monday for second-degree murder. Blythe is Brant's fiancé. She told investigators her mother had not been seen since February. According to an arrest affidavit, Brant told police the victim threatened to shoot him and Blythe with a BB gun. Degarmo's daughter told detectives that her fiancé strangled her mother to death and dragged her body to the backyard in the snow, so it could be preserved, according to Brant's arrest affidavit. A distinctive tattoo on the victim's body helped authorities with the identification. It is a 1997 Nissan 200sx, metallic blue in color, with Colorado license plate # 632LHE. Source: www.9news.com
