Woman killed in movie theater shooting graduated from Hillwood HS - WSMV Nashville

One of the victims in Thursday night's movie theater shooting in Lafayette, La. , graduated from Hillwood High School in Nashville in 2000. According to her LinkedIn page, 33-year-old Jillian Johnson is a co-owner of Red Arrow Workshop in Lafayette. Johnson also attended Belmont University from 2000 to 2002, where she studied design communications. According to her LinkedIn page, she graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2004 with a B. F. A in ceramics. Jillian Johnson’s father, Jackie Johnson, still lives and works in Nashville as a wood artist. Jillian Johnson was described as a tall and quiet adolescent who continued to blossom as she got older. She attended Bellevue Middle School, where she played volleyball with Jennifer Kalis, daughter of Channel 4’s Rudy Kalis. “She was really tall, taller than the other girls,” Jennifer Kalis said. Nashville musician and Lafayette native Mike Lahey knew Jillian Johnson in both cities. Jillian Johnson and her brother had a T-shirt design company called Parish Ink. Jillian Johnson also started an all-girl band called The Figs.
