Ayrton Senna’s Acura NSX sports car is headed to auction Considered one of the greatest racing drivers of all time, Ayrton Senna netted three F1 Driver’s Championships before his untimely death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. Senna also played a vital role in the development of the original Acura NSX sports car, the Japanese luxury brand’s first foray into the world of exotic cars. He also played an important role in the development of the Acura NSX, one of the first Japanese sports cars that went head-to-head with the likes of Porsche and Ferrari.
