Spyshots: 2017 Civic Type R Sedan Spied with Ferrari-Like Exhaust in the US - autoevolution

This has to be the most exciting test mule ever to wear the Honda badge, even taking the NSX into consideration. You see, this is a prototype for the Civic Type R sedan that should arrive right after the next-gen compact, bringing over 300 hp of track terror. The front has a few parts from the Acura ILX, while the back shows the tall taillights of the European Civic hatchback. Of course, the Civic Type R will only have half the number of cylinders compared to the Ferrari. As for styling, we only need to look at the 2016 Civic Concept that Honda presented a few months ago. It offered LED headlights and the most aggressive array of wings and skirts you'll see this side of a race car. The Type R is not the only Civic model that will have a turbocharged engine. The regular 2- and 5-door models will come with a new 1. 5-liter VTEC Turbo offering the same output as a 2-liter while drinking less fuel. Source: www.autoevolution.com
