Contra Costa vehicle theft suspects arrested - TheReporter.Com

Solano County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two Contra Costa County women in Vallejo after they found them with a stolen car. Deputies assigned to the Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET) were in the parking lot of Motel 6 at 597 Sandy Beach Lane, Vallejo, on Wednesday when they saw two women get out of a green Acura CL, according to Deputy Christine Castillo. The deputies learned earlier that day the car had been reported stolen out of Martinez. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Stolen Vehicle Task Force responded and led the investigation. During this investigation, deputies also found a red Nissan SUV that had been reported stolen out of Vallejo, Castillo said. The Stolen Vehicle Task Force offered the following tips to avoid becoming the victim of a car thief:. • Never leave any keys in the car or ignition, inside a locked garage or in hide-a-key boxes. • Purchase a vehicle theft tracking/security system, especially if you own a vehicle model known to be frequently stolen. • Never leave personal identification documents, vehicle ownership title or credit cards in your vehicle.
