Alfa Romeo's brand resurgence is on track with sporty new Giulia sedan - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Alfa Romeo was re-entering North America with just one vehicle, the 4C Coupe, and there were very tight allocations on that one model. Indeed, Baierl Automotive in Pittsburgh was one of the first dealers in the nation to welcome back the Alfa Romeo brand. “When they came to us, they wanted a significant investment, but we also knew that they wanted a marriage of the Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands,” says Bob Baierl, vice president of Baierl Automotive. Alfa Romeo has since added the 4C Spider, which is expected in Pittsburgh this fall. And just last month, Alfa Romeo rolled out its new sedan, the Giulia, introduced to the international press at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese near Milan. “Alfa Romeo fans will recognize the Giulia’s name as an outgrowth of the popular Giulietta nameplate that first appeared from the brand in 1954,” says Baierl. ” As you might expect, the new sedan is reflective of Alfa Romeo’s heritage, a brand that has represented the pinnacle of Italian automotive design for 105 years. The new Giulia follows an Alfa Romeo design imperative to achieve a 50/50 weight balance between the front and rear axles for optimum driving performance for the rear wheel drive sedan.
