Unfortunately, the production model will be about two years away as the company needs to have the Gigafactory fully operational first. However, according to Tesla's Chief Information Officer, Jay Vijayan, Tesla is considering building a manufacturing plant in India. The company has a huge market in China - it sold 5,000 units in 2014 which is big for Asia.
