Spyshots: 2017 Ford Fusion / Mondeo ST Performance Sedan First Photos - autoevolution

We are showing you the first photos of the upcoming Fusion ST, given away by the larger brakes and quad exhaust system. America has never had an ST version of the Fusion, but we still remember the lovely Mondeo ST from many, many years ago. That car had a V6 engine still used today as half of the Aston Martin V12. The era of the tweaked Mondeo ST has set, together with the Vauxhall Vectra VXR and the Mazda6 MPS (MazdaSpeed6). The American car company has learned a great deal from the development of the Focus RS. Ken Block's favorite toy comes with a new all-wheel drive system that diverts up to 70% of the torque to rear wheels when the front is overwhelmed. The Fusion and Mondeo ST models will undoubtedly feature the same system, but the source of the power is still unknown. On the cosmetic front, we might see an aggressive set of body parts, bigger brakes, performance tires and that quad exhaust system we've already talked about. Our sources suggest the Mondeo / Fusion ST will be launched in mid-2016, joining the Fiesta and Focus in Ford's arsenal of track tools. Source: www.autoevolution.com
