Local man seriously injured in Hwy 97 crash - Wallowa County Cheiftain
According to Oregon State Police, a northbound Christman, driving a 2005 Audi A5 was passing traffic in the southbound lane when he struck a southbound 2012 Volvo semi-truck and trailer head-on. The resulting crash left the truck and trailer on the northbound shoulder leaking fuel from ruptured tanks, while the Audi turned over, resting in the southbound ditch. Christman was critically injured and was airlifted to Emmanuel Legacy Hospital in Portland. According to OSP, evidence found in the Audi indicated illegal controlled substance abuse by Christman.
