First Drive: 2007 Bentley Continental GTC - MotorTrend Magazine

There should be a placard that comes with the new 2007 Bentley Continental GTC: "In the highly unlikely event of occupant hair becoming tousled whilst motoring at triple-digit velocities, please accelerate to 140 miles per hour or more. Raise the GTC's soft-top, and it'll do 195. Whether any GTC buyers will actually work on their tans while flirting with 200 mph is irrelevant, of course. Just as a dive watch depth-rated to 1000 meters easily shrugs off the aquatic perils of the backyard hot tub, the GTC delivers the peerless luxury of being able to tame routine driving chores while most of its capabilities are stowed away in reserve. On that score, the GTC is much like its Continental stablemates, the two-door GT hardtop and the four-door Flying Spur. The GTC is far from being a GT with the roof lopped off. The trunklid is higher, the rear seats are lower (there's a tad more rear legroom, too, thanks to scooped-out front seatbacks), the windshield is more steeply raked, and the side glass is new. To compensate for the missing roof structure, the GTC is strengthened with steel reinforcements in the door sills, Source: www.motortrend.com
