GARY | Two men from Schererville and Munster told police they were carjacked late Tuesday after dropping off a Crown Point man to buy marijuana in Gary, police said. Police responded to a call for shots fired about 8:30 p. m. in the 3600 block of Washington Street, according to a police report. Officers were flagged down by two men who said they were in the parking lot at Rally's Hamburgers, 3600 Broadway, when two men got into the backseat of their 1995 BMW 740, police said. Police talked to a Crown Point man in the 3500 block of Washington Street, who told police the two men had dropped him off to buy marijuana, the report says. The BMW was towed to a Gary police crime scene investigation garage, police said. GARY | A Gary police officer detained his father Sunday after the father confronted him while he was working security at Methodist Hospitals Northlake Campus, according to a police report.
