BRIDGEWATER — A Hillsborough man was arrested and charged with fleeing and creating a risk of death or injury after he failed to pull over and took police on a high-speed chase through Bridgewater, according to an affidavit filed today in... On Friday at 1:43 a. m. , Ruben A. Perez-Sandi of 70-D Farm Road in Hillsborough was spotted driving a 1995 white BMW 318 and traveling 80 mph on US Highway 22 West in Bridgewater, wrote Bridgewater detective Mark Nigro in his affidavit. A motor vehicle stop was attempted but Perez-Sandi, driving a borrowed car, ignored police and hit the gas pedal, the affidavit said. The officer activated his sirens and a pursuit ensued with Perez-Sandi reaching speeds of 115 mph, the affidavit said. Perez-Sandi then exited the vehicle and fled on foot, eluding police, the affidavit said. It was later discovered that the registered owner of the vehicle resided in Hillsborough, the affidavit said. Police went to the residence and were told by the vehicle owner that Perez-Sandi was likely driving the car, the affidavit said. Source: www.nj.com
