PARK SLOPE — A professional actor and model was scammed out of $2,500 recently by thieves who claimed they wanted to hire him for a job with Life & Style magazine, according to a police report. The 31-year-old victim received an email with the fake job offer, then got a $2,850 certified check in the mail. The victim deposited the check, then withdrew $2,500 in cash from his account and wired $2,400 to two strangers in Pennsylvania to pay for shoes and clothing. ? A 20-year-old woman jumped in a cab with a stranger for a ride from Manhattan to downtown Brooklyn, and after the stranger got out at Flatbush and Atlantic avenues, the woman realized that her purse and iPhone were missing. ? A 33-year-old woman had her purse and wallet stolen after she accidentally left them on a bench in Prospect Park near East Lake Drive and East Drive on Aug. 27 about 4:30 p. m. ? A 2011 Cadillac SRX was stolen Aug. 25 from in front of a house on 14th Street between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West after its owner parked it at 6:15 pm. ?
