Police Report for Aug. 6 - Gadsden Times

Heavy damage was done about 12:05 p. m. Wednesday to a house and to a vehicle in the 800 block of South 14th Street. The vehicle’s owner told police his girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter was in his vehicle at his residence when she accidentally put the car in reverse and backed across the street and struck the north side of a neighboring house. Someone broke in through the window of a residence in the 2900 block of Shahan Avenue between 1 p. m. and 2 p. m. Wednesday and took money. Someone took a 1999 Cadillac Seville from a driveway in the 1200 block of Tennessee Avenue. A woman reported her Chihuahua stolen about 4 p. m. Wednesday from her residence on West Wilkerson Avenue. She told police her mother-in-law came to the residence and took the dog, saying the victim wasn’t taking care of it. She said the mother-in-law has taken other items from her yard and shined vehicle headlights into her home. Rainbow City firefighters responded to a reported fire Wednesday evening at the back of Choice Fabricators in the industrial park.
