Though the model is new to Chevrolet, the Trax shares the same powertrain and other features as the luxury-focused Buick Encore, which has been a hit for General Motors since it was introduced just over two years ago. The Trax is powered by a 138-horsepower, 1. 4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 148 pound-feet of torque that is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with clutchless shifting. A front-wheel drive Trax can achieve 34 mpg on the highway while the all-wheel drive model is rated at 31 mpg.
