Charges filed on armed robbery suspect - Daily Journal Online

According to the probable cause statement, 17-year-old Joseph M. Rudis of Bonne Terre went into Roy’s Convenience store and took a can of Mountain Dew to the cash register. When the clerk scanned the soda, Rudis asked for the cash in the register and put a black Guess bag on the counter telling the clerk to put the money in that. The report stated that when the clerk hesitated, Rudis pulled his black vest to the right side exposing a firearm identified as a semi-automatic pistol tucked into his pants on his right hip. Rudis then told the clerk to place his hands on his head and not to move as Rudis grabbed the bag. Rudis fled the store to a silver 1999 Chevrolet Prizm parked behind Unico Bank. The robbery occurred at 2:30 p. m. Wednesday at Roy's Convenience Store which is located off South Oak Street in Irondale Wednesday afternoon.
