Lansing woman killed when train hits car in Eaton County - Lansing State Journal

– A woman killed Wednesday morning in a car-train crash at a rural crossing west of Grand Ledge has been identified as Catherine Farlee, 41, of Lansing. The collision happened about 10:25 a. m. on North Cochran Avenue, near M-43, the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office said. Farlee was northbound on North Cochran, near M-43, when her 2006 Chevrolet Malibu was hit by an eastbound CSX train, sheriff’s department spokeswoman Theresa O’Dell said. The train engineer reported the crash at 10:25 a. m. , she said. The incident remains under investigation. “The train engineer was the only witness,” she said.
