At 8:40 p. m. , police took a report of theft in the 100 block of 21st Street Northwest. 16 : At 2:30 a. m. , police stopped Zakary Dennis Stieb, 25, of Waverly, for driving without his headlights on. Subsequently, police arrested him for second-offense OWI and driving while license revoked. 17 : At 4:41 p. m. , police received a report from Wartburg College of a theft of college-owned items from the Wartburg-Waverly Sports and Wellness Center. At 11:22 p. m. , police responded to a call of an assault that took place at the Rolling Meadows Apartments. 18 : At 8:57 p. m. , deputies responded to a car-deer accident in the 2300 block of County Road C-33. Betty June Scharnhorst, 75, of Tripoli, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox when it struck a deer, causing approximately $2,500 in damage. Deputies took a report of theft from the Denver trailer court. 23 : Deputies arrested Steven John Wilkens, 66, of Denver, on Wood Smoke Road near Denver for serious assault. 22 : Troopers responded to a single-vehicle fatal accident at the intersection of 150th Street and Quinlan Avenue near Lawler. Jesse Johnson, 19, of Lawler, was driving southbound on Quinlan in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix at a high rate of speed near the intersection of 150th Street.
