Police who responded to a car crash in St. Paul on Tuesday found the driver's 14-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son had been thrown forward in the vehicle -- the girl could not move any part of her body other than her head, and the boy had a... Almond Ward-West, 8, had a severed artery in his leg and a broken femur. The Ramsey County attorney's office Wednesday charged Earl Lionell Ward, 45, of Brooklyn Park with eight felony counts. "I pray that he gets every single year possible, and I plan to have every single family member write to the judge to not let this man see the light of day again," Svenningsen said. The criminal complaint in the case charged Wednesday gives the following account:. Della Svenningsen and her boyfriend, Ward, went to a drive-in movie theater Monday with their two children, along with Svenningsen's older son and his girlfriend. Svenningsen later told police that Ward had been drinking alcohol during the movie and was intoxicated. She smelled what she believed was crack cocaine when Ward was standing outside the vehicle during the movie, the complaint said. Svenningsen's older son and his girlfriend got out at the girlfriend's home on St. Paul's Mechanic Avenue, and Svenningsen did, too. At the time, warrants for Ward's arrest had been issued in Ramsey and Hennepin counties in two cases in which he's been charged -- domestic assault and violation of domestic-abuse no-contact order.
