A 19-year-old man fled from Rio Grande City police on Sunday — leaving his 75-year-old grandfather behind. On Sunday afternoon, police attempted to stop a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer on San Benito Street, according to a news release from the Rio Grande City Police Department. Instead, the Chevrolet Blazer jumped nearby train tracks and sped away on Industrial Lane, according to the news release. The 19-year-old man left his 75-year-old grandfather behind, according to the news release.
