DETROIT -- Fiat Chrysler has joined the parade of video game concept cars with the hulkish SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo. The single-seat hybrid powerhouse will have three trim levels when it is released this summer for the “Gran Turismo 6” video game on Sony’s PlayStation 3 system. The X trim, the most beastly of the three variants, generates a combined 2,590 hp -- 2,168 hp from the V-10 engine, plus a front-wheel drivetrain that contributes 422 hp at peak. The Tomahawk’s base S trim for streets boasts 1,007 hp, while the GTS-R trim is considered the racing version with 1,450 hp. The X and GTS-R trims’ extreme performance require that the character drivers wear G-suits to handle the force. FCA is the latest automaker to participate in Vision Gran Turismo, an ongoing creative festival that calls for automakers to dream up concepts for PlayStation 3 gamers in a celebration of the “Gran Turismo” franchise’s 15th anniversary.
