Convicted murderer Amit Livingston to arrive in Valley today - Monitor

Livingston, a fugitive since April 2007, is being extradited from India after being arrested by the Indian National Police on May 6, 2014. He was convicted on Feb. Feburary 2007 is when former 404th state District Judge Abel C. Limas, without opposition from former Cameron County District Attorney Armando R. Villalobos and others, released Livingston after his conviction. Limas sentenced 46-year-old Livingston to 23 years in prison, but gave him 60 days of freedom to arrange his personal business affairs. Cameron County DA Luis V. Saenz made finding Livingston and extraditing him to the United States a priority since he took office in January 2013. The Livingston case and subsequent monetary settlements were key in the Cameron County corruption cases of the past few years that led to the conviction of high-ranking public officials, including Limas and Villalobos. Hermila Hernandez, a married mother of three children, was reported missing in southern Texas on a fall day in 2005.
