Lubbock police have obtained an arrest warrant for a 24-year-old California man in connection with Sunday’s fatal wreck in Southeast Lubbock. Jordan Nathaniel Mansel of Yuba City, California, faces a manslaughter charge, according to a Lubbock Police Department news release. Investigators believe Mansel was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck the wrong way in the southbound lanes in the 4200 block of East Slaton Highway and crashed into a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe carrying two people, according to an LPD news release. A short time later a 2008 Chevrolet Impala carrying three people crashed into the two vehicles. A Lubbock police incident report states Mansel “consumed an unknown number of alcoholic beverages and became intoxicated. Mansel was also taken by ambulance to the hospital where he remained until at least Wednesday morning, said LPD spokesman Ray Mendoza.
