S. 69 behind a tractor with flashers on when the pickup was struck from the rear by a truck driven by Richard Stanley, 60, of Latham, Ill. Thayer was not wearing a seat belt. Holder was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2006 Dodge pickup drove off the road Friday morning, the highway patrol reported. Holder was driving eastbound on State Highway 8 just after 8 a. m. when his pickup left the roadway and struck a tree and concrete retaining wall, a police report states. Phillips was killed after his car was struck from behind on Interstate 35, according to the patrol. About 4:15 a. m. , Phillips' 2000 Chevrolet Impala was stationary in the outside lane of northbound Interstate 35 near SW 19 Street, a police report states.
