At 5:30 a. m. on July 11, 2011, Nesbitt was driving his 2000 Jeep Wrangler north on U. S. 301. A 2005 Mack tractor-trailer was traveling east on County Road 318. The vehicles crashed at the intersection. Though Michael Curmutt, the truck driver, was not injured, the same couldn’t be said for Nesbitt. To free Nesbitt, Marion County Fire Rescue firefighters had to be careful. Some firefighters entered through the back and held his neck straight while others cut around him. They (first responders) did their jobs to a tee … they did perfect,” Nesbitt said. But firefighters also are handling dangerous cutting equipment, and one wrong move can lead to disaster. Nesbitt doesn't remember much of his ordeal, but other patients are quite alert. 1, 2015, Marion County Fire Rescue completed 248 vehicle extrications. Ocala Fire Rescue has had eight since the start of the year and 21 during 2014. During his first month at Shands Nesbitt suffered brain hemorrhaging and was mostly unresponsive. Two months after the wreck, Nesbitt was transferred from Shands to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, a private institution that specializes in brain and spinal cord. Source: www.theledger.com

Stamper was taken to Mat-Su Pretrial. August 13, 1:14 p. m. , Palmer-Wasilla Highway. Police responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and the Parks Highway in which no injuries or citations were reported. Police say Steven M. Whorton, 25, of Anchorage, drove to the Wasilla Police Department to report the vehicle he was driving was stolen. He was taken to Mat-Su Pretrial. Wasilla Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway and Financial Drive, where they found the driver was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated with three children in the car. The driver, Anjuschka Brown, was charged with DUI and three counts of reckless endangerment and taken to Mat-Su Pretrial.
