Well, 126,277 Canadians bought an F-truck in 2014, more than twice the number who purchased Canada’s best-selling car, the Honda Civic (66,057). F-Series sales surged 37 per cent last December, with the reinvented F hitting dealerships in numbers. Yet for all the engineering and design work put into remaking the F-Series, it also remains a pure deal here at the start of 2015. Shoppers are looking at as much as $9,000 or more in combined factory/dealer offers and they can be had with 2. 29... Audi’s elegant A6 sedan is on offer with up to $6,500 or more in factory and dealer offers, and all incentives can be had with 1. 9 per cent financing for up to 60 months. The sporty Hyundai Veloster is available with more than $2,300 in combined incentives and they can be “stacked” with a 2. 99 per cent finance rate for up to 84 months. And the entertaining, stylish and perhaps slightly underappreciated Mitsubishi RVR compact crossover is in play with perhaps as much as $3,000 or more in incentives, and they can be combined with zero per cent financing for 48 or 60 months. The truth is, Audi, Subaru and Mercedes-Benz have all made AWD a core brand element and the systems in their respective vehicles are effective and reliable right across the board. That being the case, it’s interesting to see combined discounts exceed $3,000 on the 2015 Subaru Outback. The story is similar for the Audi A3, with its quattro AWD system, and the Mercedes-Benz C350 coupe with 4MATIC. The savvy buyer will find more than $3,000 in combined discounts on the Audi and more than $5,000 on the Benz. And if it’s a pickup you’re looking for, the combined discounts on the Ford could reach more than $8,000. Weaker brands offering bigger discounts on strong models - The Globe and Mail

According to ALG’s latest brand perception study, the Toyota brand is the second-strongest for perceived quality among all mainstream brands in Canada. Volkswagen, ranked third in ALG’s brand perception of quality study, offered an average of just $1,287 in cash incentives during November. Weaker brands with lower perceived quality tend to offer richer incentives. Kia, for instance, is ranked well below average in ALG’s brand perception of quality study. According to Unhaggle’s incentive study, Kia Canada offered an average $2,728 in incentives during November. Only the Chrysler brand, which ranked slightly ahead of Kia in the ALG study, offered richer average incentives among mainstream brands last month. Among premium brands, Volvo was ranked well below average for perceived quality in the ALG study. Volvo’s November incentives averaged $2,599 – well above the $1,644 average for Audi, $1,714 for Lexus, $1,917 for BMW, $1,719 for Cadillac, and $1,267 for Mercedes-Benz.
