Now that it’s summer, I just lowered the pressure in each tire to 34 psi. A: Tire pressure plays more than one role in vehicle performance. The tire is part of the suspension and acts like a spring in absorbing some percentage of the bumps generated by road irregularities. The higher the tire pressure, the stiffer the spring rate. Thus, an overinflated tire may well contribute to the skipping or sliding characteristic you’ve described. Trial was postponed Thursday for two men charged in the slaying of 44-year-old mother of four Tammy Meyers , who was shot outside her home after following a car she thought had hit hers. District Judge Michael Villani pushed the trial for Erich Nowsch and Derrick Andrews back to October, after defense lawyers said they still needed to argue whether to throw out a statement Nowsch gave police. Nowsch, 19, and Andrews, 26, have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and discharge of a firearm from or within a structure or vehicle in connection with Meyers' Feb. Prosecutors said Andrews was behind the wheel of a silver 2000 Audi A6 from which Nowsch fired 24 shots, striking Meyers in the head Feb. The shootout was initially attributed to "road rage," but a prosecutor said the deadly chain of events started when Meyers saw Andrews' car and mistakenly thought it was one that had earlier bumped hers. Nowsch told police he was in a park across the street from Johnson Junior High School when he noticed a green car that seemed to be following him. Meyers was in a green Buick Park Avenue with her. A judge set a new trial date for two men charged in the slaying of 44-year-old mother of four Tammy Meyers , has hired new attorneys. Defense lawyers representing Erich Nowsch, 19, and Derrick Andrews, 27, said they expect to be ready for a trial starting Aug. District Judge Michael Villani has set another court appearance for the defendants for later this month, when defense attorneys would argue that statements Nowsch and Andrews made to police should be thrown out. Nowsch and Andrews have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and discharge of a firearm from or within a structure or vehicle in connection with the Feb. Prosecutors said Andrews was behind the wheel of a silver 2000 Audi A6 from which Nowsch fired 24 shots, striking Meyers in the head Feb. The shootout was initially attributed to “road rage,” but prosecutors said the deadly chain of events started when Meyers saw Andrews’ car and mistakenly thought it was one that had earlier bumped hers. Meyers was in a green Buick Park Avenue with her son, Brandon Meyers. She approached from behind and followed as Andrews drove away, prosecutor David Stanton said.
